Skadbergbakken Stavanger, NorwayUrban development for 392 housing units, implementation of 117 housing units, kindergarden and retail, solid wood construction in passive house standard under construction Due to the unprivileged terrain (slope towards north 7°) an urban pattern is developed offering maximum quality and maximum solar radiation for each apartment by predetermined density: 3 different housing types (single family house, 4-5 family house and apartment block with 12-15 units) are placed in relation to each other while providing sun and view aisles for the next and next but one neighbour. A second urban principle is overlaid coevally: along the new winding road small squares are created, following the traditional rural pattern and semi-public character of the Norwegian farmsteads. Each square is hosting a balanced mixture of housing types (3-5 houses) and number of apartments. With this a heterogeneous social pattern is implemented. In addition each house transforms into a diamond towards the sun with a pentagon shape floor plan. |
