In cooperation with IBA 27, the International Building Exhibition 2027 of Stuttgart, the cooperative building society Münster am Neckar (BGM) 2022 has launched an urban planning and architectural workshop process for the new Moselstrasse district.
With “Zukunft Münster 2050”, PPAG architects show a prototype of what the transformation of an outdated cooperative housing estate into a socially, ecologically and economically sustainable district can look like.
Our urban concept envisages five new houses in dense and modular timber construction. There are plans for apartments with a variety of layouts, communal rooms, a bicycle repair shop and a repair café. A total of around 220 new apartments will be built, around 60 more than today. The new buildings are distributed in such a way that the trees will be preserved and high-quality open space and a pond will be created for the entire neighborhood. The road will also be built over. The project will be implemented in four construction phases. All residents of the neighborhood will be able to stay or move back into the neighborhood.
The first construction phase is due to be completed in time for the International Building Exhibition 2027.
